Baby in the house

At first, Bayne was sleeping in her parent's bedroom with just one creepy little elephant keeping her company. In the meantime, Abby did some finishing touches in the nursery down the hall, decorating it with her custom made paintings and some sweet pregnancy photos.

The most peaceful sight in the world: a sleeping baby.
"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine"
"You make me happy when skies are gray"
"Hush, now, let's not wake Daddy or he'll be
even grumpier than usual."
"You and I are going to be best buddies, right?"

Abby really enjoyed having her little one so close to her, but after a while she decided it was time to move the baby in her own room. Oh, and to get a new bed for her and Keon, because they both had enough of waking up sore and tired, like they haven't even slept at all.

Bayne's new room
Dollhouse and bookshelf for the future toddler :)

A place to cuddle with mom or dad and read picture books

For now, Bayne loves looking at all the lovely pictures
on the wall around her bassinet :) *

A wall of memories: Abby's pregnancy photos next to
Bayne's birth certificate and one of the first pictures of her

"I like it here." :)
* Here is a great tutorial on how to make amazing custom paintings. (The giraffee one was my own idea based on this tutorial - it was a pain to make and it's far from perfect but I'm really proud of how it turned out) :)

Expecting

Abby was well into the second trimester when I realized 2 things:
1. Her clothes looked so darn uncomfortable, what with all those non-stretchy jeans and thick belts! (I know from personal experience - I haven't really been able to wear anything other than leggings during pregnancy and ever since :D)
2. She still hasn't shared the big news with Keon. Ooops. (I find it hilarious that even though her pregnancy is clearly visible now, this option still pops up amongst the friendly socials. Men can be so slow to catch on sometimes!) ;D

So I decided to expand her wardrobe with some maternity wear, and I planned some new outfits for Keon, too, just because I was tired of seeing them walk around in the same set(s) of clothes all the time.

Ouch! That belt must be really uncomfortable for all those little pixels getting bigger and bigger.
Much better! :D (Too bad the dress doesn't come with some nicer color options)
Abby: "Darling, notice anything new?"
Keon: "Umm... You got a new haircut?"
Abby: "No, Dum-Dum! I bought a new maternity dress. Oh, and I'm also pregnant!"
Keon: "Cool, so can you, like, lift this part up to breastf... wait, WHAT did you just say?"
Abby: "We're going to have a baby!"
Keon: "I think I just felt a kick!"
The pregnancy has been kind on her so far, she didn't even get morning sickness (lucky girl!), but her back does ache from time to time.
Fortunately Keon is always more than willing to give her a nice backrub.
Aaaww. <3

Abby spent the night before giving birth painting silly little things to decorate the nursery.

"I'll stop painting when pigs fly..."

The next morning Abby went into labor. Keon had a bit of a panic attack when they arrived at the hospital; Abby, however, remained super cool. Maybe having one of her best friends, Alexia as a doctor helped.
Keon: "I don't trust her. Can we go back now and have a home birth instead?"
Abby actually had the nerve to go to the computer and update her social media status while IN LABOR! Geez, parents these days... :P
While Keon was stress-eating some microwave pastry.
"Somebody HAAALP, I'm having a baby!"
Abby: "Okay, I'm officially scared now."
Alexia: "Don't worry, hun, I know what I'm doing."
Alexia: "It's your appendix, right?"
Abby: ...
Alexia: "Just kidding, doll. Relax, I'mma get that baby out safely"
Keon: "I'm freaking out! What am I supposed to do?"
Nurse guy: "How 'bout you go in there and actually support your wife?"
The baby is here!
"Hush, little one, it's okay. Mommy's got you."
It's a girl, and I named her Bayne after an adorable and perky little girl I have been babysitting some years ago, before having my own kids. She was the first toddler I had to take care of, so it seems fitting that my first toddler sim ever in the sims 4 will share the same name :) (May I just take a moment here to say: Toddlers! TODDLERS in the sims 4! I'm super excited to see them in my game! :D)

Welcome home, Bayne Merry! :)

Making memories

Keon, a freshly married man and a father-to-be, decided that going back to work was the responsible thing to do. Abby tried to convince him to try the Painter career and choose the Patron of the Arts branch because she had her eyes on the Pre-Owned Painter's Easel that that would come as a career reward when reaching level 8 she thought that getting back into a job where he is clearly not wanted is rather beneath his dignity. Keon, however, being stubborn and hot headed as he is, insisted on re-taking the Writer career path to become an Author at Walrus Books - no matter how many times Abby told him that he already was one, a great and popular one, too, and that he didn't need a title from such a lousy publishing company. So he just stormed off, not wanting to hurt his benevolent wife in his angry outburst and called the company to ask them to take him back. He did, however, make a silent promise that once he reached the top of the career ladder and was the most celebrated star and the most valuable employee at Walrus Books, he would quit his job just to spite them. Then he might give thought to Abby's suggestion.

Later that day, Keon got Very Inspired and since all he coud think about was Abby, he felt like it was time to write a book about her. With a baby on the way, he figured it would be fitting to have her memorialized by a biography, so that when the kid(s) grow up, they will have the opportunity to read about how awsome their Mommy was and how much she had already accomplished by the time she brought them into the world.

Notice the red moodlet? That's his hot-headed trait causing him to feel angry, wich happens quite often but is barely noticeable bcause he is always very inspired, very playful or very flirty, depending on which part of the house he is currently in. I might have to dial it down a notch with all the emotional decor to make things a little more interesting. :P

Keon typing away on the computer he got as a career reward, writing the book titled 'Abby Merry: The Legacy of a Painter Extraordinaire'

Abby felt flattered and really liked the idea of memorializing each other for the generations to come. She would have to leave a Legacy, after all! She chose painting, and created a sweet portrait typical of Keon ever since they received a coffee machine as a wedding gift.

Keon poses obediently while Abby's creative sparks fly.

The guy really loves his coffee. This was like his fourth cup that day. Maybe I should consider buying them a better bed?
"This picture is so realistic I just want to... touch... his... lips..."

Get back to work, girl!
The finished Masterpiece (of course :D) next to some coffee-themed decor.

Just Married

This is how Keon came out of the shower on their wedding night:

"Hi there, Wifey." (Don't worry, he's still got his left arm, too, it's just the censor blur messing with our heads)
At first, Abby was like:

"OH MY...!" (Not that she hasn't seen it all before, so I kinda lol'd at her reaction) :D
And then like:

"Hi there yourself, Hubby. Is that all for me?"

"So... You wanna try for baby?"
Things progressed quite quicky from then on:

Love the way Abby is checking him out :D
Yep, that's right. Keon's nudity is so perplexing it had to be blurred out even under the covers.

The next morning as Abby was getting ready for work, she decided to take a pregnancy test.

Fingers crossed, she's almost an adult now so it's time to produce an heir already.
It was positive! :)

She seems happy and terrified at the same time :D

A tour of the house

Abby and Keon are a bit proccupied right now since it's their wedding night, so I'm gonna give them some privacy and show you around the Legacy House in the meantime. ;)

Front of the house - the second floor is still empty, hence the lack of windows and boring shape.
Side of the house with the foundations of a future garden.

Back of the house with a rudimentary pool. (It has windows on one side to let natural light into the basement - where the gym will be one day - and to give an opportunity to watch sims swimming from below, because I find that really funny) :)
Bird's eye view of the house. The separate box in the upper left corner is a non-accessible garage/shed thingy where the unused youth potions and other collections will be stored. The empty room in the upper middle part of the pic is the future nursery/toddler bedroom.
Front door and entrance area.
Stairs to the empty second floor.
Hallway.
Abby's painting studio with lots of ispiring decor; and the informal breakfast area.
Keon's writing corner.
View of the kitchen - very basic but with great potential ;)
Formal dining room - I plan to add a bar later on in the corner where the easel stands right now,
Another view of the dining room. I plan to host some legendary parties here, hence the playful painting dump (all masterpieces) to easily get the unsuspecting guests in a playful mood.
Living room.

Master bedroom with a door leading to a secluded little patio containing a hot tub; and an open entrance to the master bathroom.
Abby's vintage vanity table (with some photos of her as a bride to always remind her of the day when she felt like the most beautiful sim in the world) :)
A very naughty closet in the master bedroom (with some boudoir photos Abby had taken as a wedding gift to Keon) ;)
Master bathroom.
Master bathroom - wellness and relaxation at home.
And last but not least, a teeny-tiny separate toilet. (There is also another bathroom but it's quite unimpressive as of now so I didn't take any photos.)
